Jasper #2 came from TX as an owner turn in to a shelter and adopted out and then retuned again. Second time no reason given and we can’t even understand why he was given up the first time. This is a prefect dog, he’s housebroken, gets along with all dogs, loves to play and is a perfect lap dog; what’s not to love about this guy, so why is he here?
Well there loss your gain. If you are looking for that perfect dog then consider this beauty. He’s great on a leash, sleeps on the couch or in a crate at night, probably would be ok by himself but we think he’d rather have someone to play with and hang out with when you are busy doing your thing.
We do think that a fenced in yard would be best for him cause he sure loves to be outside on these pretty spring days. If you are interested in adopt this sweet boy please contact his foster mom for more details on him. And thank you for thinking of rescue.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
