BIO:

Phoebe came from an owner in AL when they no longer wanted her and to prevent her going to a less desirable place a Good Samaritan took her and then contacted us. We of course said we’d be glad to take this pretty girl and find her the right home.

Phoebe is very sweet and low key, her foster mom feels she has an old soul because she’s so sweet and laid back but with that being said can be a little on the alpha side so a submissive female or a male is who she needs to be paired with or she’d be fine by herself.

She loves the fenced in yard and loves to sit on the porch swing with you just enjoying the fresh air. Where you are, she likes to be also.

She does sleep on the couch with the other foster dogs at night but would also be fine in a kennel in your bedroom at night. She's just a quiet little girl.

We’d like to see her go to a home with a fenced yard so she can enjoy being outside with you when you are out doing your thing, she’ll help!

We do hope you see the beauty in her, not just outside but in as well, and apply for her today. She’s a wonderful girl!!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
