BIO:
Benz (Benny) is a puppy mill survivor who spent the first years of his life in a kennel. He is finally learning how wonderful it is to be free and to be loved. He loves to snuggle up next to you on the couch and get lots of scratches! He isn’t so sure about being picked up yet. He will let you do it but his body gets very tense and he isn’t comfortable. He is learning though. J He is a very happy little boy and once he is comfortable with you, his tail will never stop wagging.
He is house broken and loves going in and out through the doggy door so a fenced in yard would be nice. He spends a lot of time playing outside with his foster brothers and sisters so a doggy friend for him is a must. He did lose several teeth during his dental but it hasn’t slowed him down a bit! He isn’t much for eating dog treats but show him a piece of cheese and he will start to dance!! He hasn’t really barked much with us so a quiet house would be nice.
He has so much love to give and would love to find his special forever home to share it with. If you want a lifetime of snuggles and devotion then Benny is the dog for you!
More about Benz.....NC
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
