BIO:
Hi my name is Sadie. My owner just went off and left me at his girlfriend’s family’s house and moved away and never came back for me. While I was in their care I had a litter of puppies that are 10 weeks old. After the puppies were born the family decided they could not afford to keep me. ADDR came to my rescue and saved me from being turned over to a shelter.
I am a sweet, loveable little girl and throw in really cute. I am working on potting outside. Foster mommy says that I am doing really great and before long I will be completely housebroken. I walk really well on a leash as long as I get to go in the direction that I want to go. Foster mommy and I are working on this little issue. I am a real cuddle bunny I love to lay in my persons lap or lay really close to them. I love to play with my foster sisters and I am learning how to play with the doggie toys. I am crate trained and sleeps with one of my foster sisters at night. I still am a little timid when I meet someone new but after a few minutes I will come around and want to be loved on. On the subject of children as long as they are older and know how to handle small dogs they should be ok.
I am looking for my forever home, please consider me as your next very best friend. I promise to give you lots love and doggie kiss. Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my pictures and reading my bio.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
