BIO:
Meet Love Bug which was a owner surrender from no fault of his own. He was surrendered with his brother/uncle because their family got themselves into problem and couldn't keep them. All the dogs have now been neutered, teeth cleaning and up to date on all shots.
Love Bug is happy to see everyone and he especially loves it if you’re sitting so he can climb in your lap for a nap BUT if you’re busy about the house he’s just as happy to watch you from a doggie bed or couch. Oh, and did we say he loves to be out in the yard with you even if it’s just for you to check out the grass to see if it’s growing any or looking for what might be out there? He will be right there with you experiencing life’s pleasures! Love Bug is doing great with the other animals in his foster home, even with the cats he doesn't pay then any attention. Kids over 10 and respectful of animals would be great. Fenced yard would be good but not mandatory for him as long as you were willing to take a little walk or walks to smell the flowers. Love Bug is working on his house training which he is doing good, he has learned the doggie door and is enjoying the toys around the house.
Please let your home be his last - think about adopting this sweet sweet boy. He deserves it!

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
