BIO:   Hello there.  My name is Jasmine.  You know, like from the Disney movie.  Everyone tells me it’s a great name for me since I am sweet and special just like that princess was in the movie.  Let me see, I like belly rubs and ear scratches.  I was found in someone’s front yard and it looked like I hadn’t eaten in a really long time.  Despite that I still gave these nice folks kisses and nuzzles when they were called and came and got me.  Right now, my biggest goal is to gain some weight.  I really like my meal times, so I am sure that I will be at my goal weight in no time at all.

My human buddy says he wishes he knew more about what my life was like before he got me, but I think that is what makes me unique, I get to show everyone what great little girl I am.

I am working on making sure I go outside all the time for my potty breaks.  I was out on my own for a while, so I still have an accident from time to time.  However, my human buddy says I am doing great and should have it down in no time at all.  He says that a regular schedule is what I need and it seems to be working pretty good.

When it’s time to go to bed I love to snuggle right next to you in the big bed.  I really like having a big and soft bed with blankets to snuggle into. I think I could really get use to this.  During the day I like to snuggle on the doggie bed with my foster brothers.  I have made my way to the couch a few times to.  It has a nice blanket that I like to burrow under during the day.

I guess I just want what everyone else wants - a buddy and family to love me and that I can love back.  I think I would make someone a great forever buddy.  I have all the greatest attributes of a cute and lovable little doxie debutant.  Why not check me out and find out how we can be a great team together?

More about Jasmine.....FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
