BIO

Daisy Dru was surrendered by her owner in southern  AL. What a sweet girl she is too and the person that applies and is approved to adopt her is one lucky person. Daisy is friendly, good with kids and appears to be housebroken. We just got her in and are learning more about her every day but what we do know is that she’s a great dog and deserves a great home. She loves lap time and following you around the house. She doesn’t care for the crate and will cry when put in the crate but she’s a good girl and is not destructive so could be left out when you have to go out. We think a fenced in yard would be the best for Daisy and another dog to keep her company and play with her. The owner had kids so she’d be great with kids that know how to treat animals.  Please consider giving her your home to live out her life.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
