Update from Foster Mom:  Snooki is a doll! I believe she would be perfect for a single woman who is home more often than not because she loves her human and will always stay by your side.  Snooki doesn’t mind being crated while you’re gone though and will give you happy barks when you get home.  She would love to have another toy dog female to snuggle with and even romp around the yard with, but that’s not a deal breaker if you don’t have one.  Although she is still shy from her puppy mill days, I see her becoming more confident every day.  She is playing with her foster sister and brother and is friendly with my cat as well.  In 3 short weeks, she has settled in comfortably and uses the doggie door easily.  Her favorite past time is napping and snuggling.  If you are looking for a devoted companion that aims to please and is sweeter than sugar, Snooki is the gal for you!

From Snooki - Foster Mom didn’t mention that she also has 2 big dogs that I love too.  I get along with everyone here!  I just like things to be easy going and get startled if you come towards me too fast.  Even though I may crouch down when it looks like you are going to pick me up, I will relax in your arms once you do.  Oh, one other thing... I do not like storms.  They make me tremble so I will want to be close to you when the thunder gods are out.  I’m fine when they go back in though.  Please give me a chance to love you and be your friend!  Love, Snooki ...or Lady... or whatever you want to call me. BIO:

Snooki came from a puppymill in MO and it was her lucky day, 3 years ago. She was adopted fairly quickly from AADR once vetted, but once again she's finding herself needing a new home. You see, her owner died and the man didn't want to keep her, so she came back to rescue.

Snooki has lost all her teeth now and has to be fed softened hard food. Snooki is still shy from her puppymill days, but she's great in a quiet home and will come out of her timid shell. 

Snooki needs a home with a fenced-in yard and she'd do best in a female only home. She's quiet, does not bark much, and will follow other dogs if you have another one or two. She does great on a doggie door or a tight schedule for outside. It will take her a while to get used to your home and we are begging you to give her a chance to show you what a great dog she is. She will not disappoint  you! 

She'd be just fine for a working lady too, as she'll be waiting for you when you come home to greet you at the door.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
