BIO:

Hi there!  I’m Jade!  I’m a dachshund mix but I’m still very cute and always very happy!  Well, until my Foster Mommy puts me in my crate when she leaves.  My real Mommy is a pure bred Dachshund and was taken in by another rescue while she was pregnant.  My Daddy’s breed is unknown.  I’m a little taller and not quite as long as a pure bred doxie and my coat is a very pretty red dapple. 

I get along well with my Foster siblings, which include dogs and cats!  I love people!  I want to play with everyone then nap so I can play some more.  I sleep all night long snuggled next to my Foster Mommy in the big bed.  When morning comes I can’t wait to get up and potty, eat and then play before my nap.  It would be so nice to have another doggy to play with at my furever home, but if my furever Mommy and/or Daddy could play with me often and give me lots of attention, I would be OK as an only doggy too. 

I’m very smart and learn quickly however, I do have a bit of the Dachshund stubbornness.  My Foster Mommy thinks I’ve been well cared for to this point because I am so friendly and I know how to play and I seem well adjusted to suit anyone who can keep up with me!  If you don’t fall in love with me just by my pictures, there’s no way you won’t fall in love when you meet me!  I know I’ll love you!  Please contact my Foster Mommy if you have any questions and think you might want to adopt me.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
