BIO

Here I am sitting in the cold state of MI.  I am one of six puppies born in a Tennessee Animal Shelter after my Mommy was taken in as a stray.  AADR recued our Family and they are helping to find us all Forever Homes.

I am so young and so little - but growing by leaps and bounds.  I can do anything a puppy can do . . . I eat, poop and sleep.   I love to play with my sister April - even if I’m a little rough with her.  I’m tough and sometimes she acts like a baby and “screams” – so I’ll leave her alone.  What a Wimp!!  She needs to toughen up a little!   I like to take naps on my Foster Mommy’s lap in the evening.  I sleep in a crate with my sister all night and don’t bother my Foster Mommy for breakfast until 6am.  I know how to pee on the “pee” pad, drink and eat out of a bowl, and play tug-of-war with my sister.  When I’m tired I go into the crate and take a nap all by myself

All I want this year is a loving family who will teach me all the “doggie manners” I need to know to be a good citizen.  I want to learn how to walk on a leash, learn to sit and stay and most of all learn to sleep in the “BIG BED” under the covers (when I’m old enough.   If you can find it in your heart to Adopt me- I promise I will provide you with years of love and joy- I will bring laughter to your home and” LOVE YOU FOREVER.

More about Louie #2...IL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
