Update 3-16-14:
Cass is doing very well in her new foster home. She was a little shy at first, but now likes to be with people she knows. She has learned to walk on a leash and enjoys strolls around the neighborhood. Cass likes her time outside, so would be happy in a home with a fenced yard or secure deck where she can enjoy the sun, or at least frequent walks when the weather is nice. She has done very well with her housetraining and now has very few accidents. She is healed from her dental work and has no problem eating dry dog food and treats. She has put on a pound or so and is at a good weight. Little Cass likes to sleep curled up next to foster mom. She is a delightful little lady.
Meet Cass –
Cass came from a puppymill in AL with 11 other doxies. Her entire life was spent in a barn with very little human contact.
Cass is coming out of her shell & blossoming everyday! She is learning to use a doggie door but still has accidents because she was always allowed to just potty wherever she wanted. Cass is great with cats (as you can see in one of her pictures). She is fine with older kids – smaller kids move too fast for her & make her nervous. Cass will need a home with a fenced in yard because it will take her some time to learn to walk on a leash. Cass lost several teeth during her dental so she will need to be on soft food, but this girl has an appetite. She needs to gain another 2-3 lbs to be at her appropriate weight.
Cass has been in her foster home for 5 days & is now coming to her foster mom & jumping up to snuggle in her lap. This is a HUGE step for a puppymill dog in such a short amount of time. Cass loves to burrow & stay warm & cozy. She is great with other dogs, big & small. She is just looking for her forever home to live out her days in.
