BIO:

Hello my name is Weenie, I am 3 years old. My foster mom says I am very cute. I am really reserved and do not bark much at all.

Didn't have a very happy life till now and a little stand offish till I feel comfortable and safe. But very curious about what's going on. I even like to help make the bed in the mornings, I am right there eager to help.

I like to cuddle. If I can I will sneak into bed with you and snuggle under the covers.

I like older folks and follow them around if they decide to sit, I am right there waiting to sit with them and snooze.

My foster home is a very busy home, 2 of their own dachshunds which are very nice. I am not to anxious to run and play with the younger one, she is crazy, but oh love the other and will even sleep with him in the crate and lay around during the day with him in the dog bed.

They have grandchildren from 2 on up, their ok but would rather just watch them do their thing while I do mine.

Cats well they have two a kitten and an older one their ok, really could care less, they do their thing and I do mine. I don't bark at them or chase them.

I walk on the leash, I even don't mind the car rides to much, I listen well and usually just nap.

I go outside to do my business. I don't even bark at the neighbors or that squirel that just sits there and antaginizes Nicholas.

Yes I guess my foster mom is right, I am a cutie and sweet, would like to find a good home who will love me and spend time with me and spoil me would be good too.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me. Weenie

More about Weenie...VA

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
