BIO:

Really needs another dog and or fenced...

Cooper is a shy boy at first but slowly warms to his foster family. He is very submissive and would be fine with male or female dogs.  He is just a sweetie. One thing we can say about Cooper is he is GORGEOUS!!

Cooper was an owner surrender, they had to downsize. He had a light case of heartworms but he has been treated and he will come with a three month supply of Trifexis.

Cooper is a gentle soul and really wants to be loved and will cuddle with you on the couch. We think he’d be fine if he was kept on a potty schedule and nice treats for doing what he should outside.

Heads will turn when you walk down the street with this boy. Don’t wait, he’ll not be here long, apply today!!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
