BIO:
Scooby is a stocky little silver dapple guy. He may be 11, but that's not old for a dachshund. He is in good health after recovering from a bout of pneumonia that he picked up at the shelter. His lungs are clear and his bloodwork is excellent. He had his teeth cleaned recently and they are now shiny white.
Scooby is a laid back dude who likes to sit in a lap or lie in his dog bed under a blanket. When nobody is home he is allowed to be free in the house. He is housebroken and spends most of his day napping so he will be ready to greet you and go for a walk when you get home. He enjoys strolls around the neighborhood and does very well on a leash. At night Scooby prefers to sleep with his people, but he will sleep in a dog bed or crate too.
Scooby gets along well with the other dachshunds in his foster home, male and female, young and old. He has not been around cats, but he can be introduced to some if you need to know how he does. He enjoys Nylabones and furry squeaky toys, though sometimes the squeaky toys don't last very long.
Scooby was left at the animal shelter because he snapped at a young child. No damage was done to the child, but for this reason his new family should be all adults or have children who are old enough to understand that they must be gentle with him and that he will sometimes need to be left alone. He has been a total sweetheart in his foster home.
If you are looking for a handsome little buddy to share walks and quiet time with, Scooby's your man!
