BIO:  Come on what are you waiting for Flash wants you to be his new forever home!

Flash needs a fenced yard and another playful dog that he can play with as Flash loves to play!

Flash came from a high kill shelter in AL and we were asked to take him because he was heartworm positive. We were his only hope. We took him in treated the heartworms and now he’s ready to go onto his forever home.

Flash #2 would really like it if his people were hope a lot or take him with them. He has mild separation anxiety but has gotten better since being here since we don’t feed into his anxiety.

He is a great dog, gets along with others, likes to play with other fosters and enjoys the fenced in yard. He sleeps all night long in the bedroom with his human on a doggie bed gated in and doesn’t have any accidents. He would prefer the big bed but we don’t think that would help his separation anxiety. We do crate him when we leave and besides making some noise when we first leave he does fine in the crate. We think it would help him if he had another dog to be buddies with if you have to leave that way he won’t mind you leaving so much. While he does great on a leash we really think he’d do better with a physical fenced in yard(no invisible fencing please). You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate. 

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
