Hey everyone! Meet me I am Ace. I am a bouncy pup that just loves to play. I run full steam in the backyard, but am fairly calm indoors. My Foster dad is in the process of working on training with me so that I can be a polite puppy. He says that I catch on quickly, especially if treats are involved. I think there is nothing better than a roll in the grass with the security of a fenced in yard. I’m still settling in to my new foster home and I enjoy investigating every corner and crevice. I like my new puppy friends and get along with big dogs as well. I hardly bark unless I am put in my crate and when I am not ready for bed. Please consider me as a permanent member of your family and I will make sure that you have life filled with my unconditional love.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
