BIO:

Sadly Bella lost her daddy and now she’s looking for a new home, we promised her we’d find one for her.

What a delight this girl is, friendly to everyone! Loves walks, belly rubs and being with you.

This girl is soooo housebroken, she’ll go to the door if she wants out or will use a doggie door. This girl is a peach of a pet, the only thing we see she can improve on is her weight she needs to lose about 5 lbs and get down to about 15 lbs. We are working on it but the adoptive family will have to continue to help her lose this weight to protect her back.

She is fine with kids 5 yrs and up but don’t think you are going to get out of giving her bellyrubs that’s how we start the day and end the day and anything in between if she can get you to do it.

If you are looking for a mature little girl but still has a lot of pep to her step than Bella is the one for you. We would like her to have a fenced yard and a family that will get out and walk her to keep her weight down if you are that family than she’s the girl for you. Email me!!

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If they choose transporting by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

To understand the adoption process through AADR please visit the Adoption Information.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.

More about Bella #8...TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
