Badger is a sweet boy, a black/tan tweenie dachshund boy. He is crate trained, housetrained and gets along with everyone. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, neutered and in general good health. Badger came from a NC mountain shelter, his angel named Terry recognized what a sweet dachshund he was and saved him from being put to sleep. He was turned over to rescue to find a forever home. Badger is not a barker and likes to run around with his dachshund foster brothers. He also gets along with the big dogs in his foster home. Badger does have an overbite but can not really be seen unless you turn him upside down. He is a sweetie pie and is so happy to be given a second chance.
More about Badger
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
