BIO:

Max is a sweet loving little guy.  He’s happiest lying in your lap for as long as you are willing to let him.  Max has been rescued from a shelter and is acclimating well to life in a loving home.  He may be shy at first, but when he comes out of his “shell”, he’s got tons of affection!  He’s got a lot of energy.  He enjoys running around the fenced yard with our other dogs.

He is working on getting crate trained.  He typically does best when the crate is covered so he can have some “quiet time.”  He is working on being house trained and is doing fairly well learning from the other dogs.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
