BIO: Hi! I'm Bella and I think black is beautiful, don't you? I love to sit in a lap, getting belly rubs, playing with squeaky toys, sleeping in the big bed and eating! Give me a chance to be your best friend and I will love you forever! Bella is a bit shy at first, give her time to adjust and she is a total love bug. She gets along with both males and females as long as they understand that she is Queen Bella. Bella is a girly girl, she's pretty in pink and loves sweaters in cooler temps. This little lady had her life turned upside down when her human could no longer care for her due to health reasons. She wants nothing more than a safe and loving home with toys and good food. Walking on a leash is not her favorite activity, she prefers a fenced yard. Do you have a fenced yard and enough love to share with Bella?
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days. Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
