BIO:

Slinky2 came from a high kill shelter in TX and if we had not agreed to take him they would have euthanized him because he was heartworm positive.

We felt he was just too young to be destroyed so our member in TX pulled him and he came to TN for treatment.

Slinky LOVES his people, he wants to be with you everywhere you go and will follow you all over the house and yard. Slinky however does not get along with all males and some females because he wants his human to himself. So we feel it’s best to give him his wish and be an only dog.

He does fine in the house while you are gone, or in a crate. He would like to sleep with his humans, male and female are both fine he’s not picky as long as you promise to love him forever.

Slinky will be done with his final heartworm treatment and follow up the 11th of May but could probably go to his forever home the end of April. If you are looking for one dog and want one that’s house broken and ready to roll with you than please apply to bring him into your home.

Thank you for looking and we hope to find you your next best friend!

Is Not Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
