BIO:  Hi everyone, my name is Lucky.  I don’t quite know how I got my name but it fits me because I’ve been through a lot in my short life and now I’m safe so I feel lucky because not everyone gets that chance.  My foster mom tells me how special I am and that anyone that gets me would truly be a lucky person.  See my name keeps popping up so it must be a good name.

My foster mom says I’m a good boy who loves to play with my foster siblings but who also likes to give kisses and cuddles with my human.  She also told me I’m special, you see sometimes I have seizures but it’s being controlled with medicine now so I’m just like everyone else except I need to take my pills every day.   I make my foster mom laugh all the time and she tells me this is a good thing.

My foster mom has done a lot for me, when I came to her, because of my past, I was very thin, I am slowly gaining weight.  I haven’t totally mastered the going outside and potty thing but she tells me its okay and she understands it sometimes takes longer with some than it does with others.  She made me feel better when she said that.

I don’t think I’ve forgotten anything, but if you have any more questions feel free to email my foster mom, she knows everything about me.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

More about Lucky...TN

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
