BIO:  Hi my name is Gracie and I told I’m just a sweet little girl and happy whatever those both me  but I can tell you that while I’m not sure of the new things I’m experiencing I always have my tail going to show you I’m glad to see you. I may not wag it at first but give me 30 mins and I’ll show you then.

A breeder lady gave me up after she retired me and wanted me to have a good home as a pet(?) and she said she knew that AADR would do that for me(what’s AADR?) so anyway off she packed me to this lady that’s been taking great care of Sophie and I but she said it would be best for both of us if we were sent to separate foster homes so we could let our own personalities show through so I’m going to Michigan. Temp foster mom said it’s kinda cold up there so she said she’d send me with a sweater(what’s that?) to keep me warm, cool I like warm. Anyway it would be great if I could find a home with another dog so I could follow their lead to learn faster home to be a pet and oh a fenced in yard, can I have one of those? A doggie door would be a plus but you gotta be patience with me if you don’t have a doggie door I’m still learning all this new stuff.

Please contract my new foster mom so you can learn all there is to know about me and maybe I can be your new little princess? I would love that and so would you.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of  CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

We are now approved to adopt/foster in the state of NH but adopters will have to pay health certificate fee of 35.00 once to get the dog to our quarantine facility and another 35.00 fee to get the dog out of quarantine after two days.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
