BIO:

Chance was tied to a porch and left there while the owners went to FL for an extended length of time. Neighbors stepped up and took her to the shelter knowing she’d stand a better chance at the shelter than tied to the porch.

When Chance first came to us she was wanting to be outside all the time but as she has gotten used to her new foster home and realizes she can go in and out she now prefers to spend her time sleeping in a chair or on the couch and go outside to potty when needed. She likes to lay in your lap, seems to prefer the man of the house more but when it comes to a lap any lap will do.

Chance is a little bit longer in the legs than a well bred dachshund but don’t let that stop you from adopting her she’s still ALL dachshund.

Chance doesn’t interact much with the other dogs so we think she was an only dog. She seems to like toys especially a tennis ball.  She doesn’t mind sleeping in the big bed but is just as happy sleeping in a chair or couch at night too. If you are interested in adopting Chance please go online and fill out an online adoption application.

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above.  If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.

We will not adopt into the state of  CT, MA, RI due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we cannot adopt to anyone in that state either.

Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options.  If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.

More about Chance 2...TN

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
