BIO: Bubba Jo is a shy boy but when he gets to know you he’s very very sweet and gentle. He would be a great dog by himself or a female dog. He’s not aggressive at all and more on the submissive side. He is housebroken and enjoys being outside but likes you with him. He really just wants to be your shadow so someone home most of the time would be ideal for him and a fenced in yard.
He has the softest fur of any long hair I’ve met. We believe the old owner shaved him down in the summer and let him grow out in the winter. He is going to be drop dead gorgeous when grown out.
He came from AR where the owner lost everything and had to move in with her daughter in another state and could not take the dogs, broken hearted she did what was best for the dogs and we promised her we’d find homes for each one of them. If you can give Bubba Jo the home he so richly deserves he’ll give you all the love and devotion he has.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
We will not adopt into the state of CT or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we cannot adopt to anyone in that state either.
Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
