BIO:  Meet Willow, she is the mom to the 5 Chiweenie babies that we have up for adoption. She came from Savannah, GA when sadly her owners had to move and could not take her or her babies with them. They wanted the best for all of them so they contacted us for help.

Willow is a sweet sweet girl, loves to be on your lap or in the same room you are in. She’ll follow you outside to do her  business and stay out there with you as long as you want to be out. She does need to be kept on a potty schedule and won’t let you know when she has to go but if you take her out and go out with her then she’s just fine. She will even potty on a leash and would make a good apartment dog.

She does fine with other dogs male and female but does love her toys and will carry them around for hours and hours.

Willow is not much of a barker but will follow the other dogs lead, if they bark she will bark sometimes but by no means is considered a problem barker.

Willow just needs a chance to have a forever family, will you be that family?

We will not adopt into the state of  CT or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures. We are working hard to get approved to bring dogs into the state of NH and until that happens we can not adopt to anyone in that state either.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
