Mike came from the same breeder that passed away and she wanted her dogs to find good homes. That was her last wish and we are making her wish come true.
Mike is a happy, little guy who loves to lay in the sun and be outside in the fresh air. He loves using the doggie door to go in and out, especially with the other breeder dog that came in with him.
Mike gets along well with the other foster dogs, don’t know about cats, and young kids would make him too nervous but kids over 12 would be fine. Mike loves to sit on your lap while you watch TV or read, or he is also happy laying in a doggie bed curled up with another dog.
Mike did lose a lot of teeth but he’s a happy boy and feeding him soft food will keep him happy and healthy. Mike is in very good health in spite of the fact he was a breeder dog all his life and has very few teeth. Please don’t let that stop you from adopting him and not only fulfilling her last wish but making his last years happy ones, he will repay you ten-fold.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.
Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport.
