BIO:

Hi my name is Gwen. My foster mom calls me Gwendolyn sometimes and I think it fits me well. I was turned into a kill animal shelter by my previous owner for unknown reasons and AADR scooped me up! I am blind in one eye from a prior injury of some sort, but it doesn’t stop me!! I don’t even realize it. My personality is very laid back and lovable. I am a gentle and calm girl and I love to give soft kisses. I don’t like to be alone very much though. I would prefer to be in my owners lap all day long if I could. I would sleep sleep sleep all day long and give some kisses here and there J. Don’t you want to be my new mommy or daddy?!

More about Gwen...AR

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
