BIO:

Gertie and Bessie are a courtesy listing and not associated with All American Dachshund Rescue.  Please contact Wilma at the e-mail listed above for further details on these two ladies and how to adopt them.

Gertie and Bessie came into rescue due to financial troubles in their home. They are sisters who have been together their whole lives. Both girls are extremely affectionate and loving. They like nothing better than laying on your lap, if it’s big enough for 2, or one on and one off while you are reading, watching tv, or just relaxing.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

More about Gertie/Bessie

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
