Meet Shy

Shy is one of our “Texas 6”, she was pulled from a puppy mill there. To read more about her & her 5 companions click on the link http://hosted-p0.vresp.com/289082/4bc750ae7a/ARCHIVE

Shy is a sweet little girl. She was a little nervous coming into our home from the puppy mill, but who wouldn’t be??? She is great now & if I hadn’t of told you she was a puppy mill dog you would never know it. Shy walks GREAT on a leash, is good with kids, fine with other dogs once she warms up to them, and is house trained to a doggie door (unless it rains – but what doxie likes to go out in the rain??). She DOES NOT like cats at all & will bark, chase, and try to bite them, so for that reason her forever home can not have cats. Shy has also shown a little food aggression with other dogs, so at feeding time she just hops right in her crate and eats by herself.

Shy loves curling up next to you and being the little princess she was always meant to be. She gets so excited about her daily walks and will jump up & down once you bring the leash out.

If you think that you could give this princess the forever home she SO deserves please fill out an online application.

We have now been approved to adopt and transport into the state of Massachusetts but there are guidelines the organization and adopters must follow. If adopting and before filling out the adoption form please e mail aadrpresident@gmail.com to get the guidelines and expenses that must be followed.

More about Shy...NC

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
