BEING FOSTERED IN NORTHERN MS......
Acey came to us via his mother. Acey's mother was surrendered to rescue hours before she gave birth. Because of her abuse, fear and the fact that she was very malnourished, she killed two of her newborn babies out of the will for her own survival. Because of this, Acey has been hand raised since the age of two days. He was fed his mother's milk but she had to be restrained for his protection. We took turns feeding Acey around the clock until he was 3 weeks old and old enough to go all night without nursing. Because I have other dachshunds in my home, Acey has been very well socialized with dogs as well as humans. He would do well with cats too I am sure. He is crate trained and wee-wee pad trained. He is very healthy, very well adjusted and an absolute joy! He is up to date on wormings and has had his first vaccination. We are looking for a home for Acey that has at least one other dachshund. He would benefit greatly by having another dachshund to learn from as he matures. Acey is a black and tan boy with piebald markings and will be a beautiful adult. I expect him to be on the small side, approximately 10 pounds at adulthood. He will be ready to go to his new home in a few short weeks! If you are interested in giving Acey a loving home, please email be directly at tianyacc@aol.com
THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN ADOPTING A RESCUE.
More about ACEY...TN
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
