BIO:

Bennie was turned into an animal shelter with a severe case of Demodex Mange(non contagious), we are working very hard to get this cleared up so he can move on to his forever home.

Bennie is a wonderful puppy and acts still so much puppy so he needs kids to wear off some of his energy. He would be great with all children and the more the merrier. He loves to romp and play in a fenced in yard and that is a must for Bennie.

We think Bennie is Dachsund/Lab so he should top out under 25lbs but will be sturdy enough for rough and tumble playing with the kids. If you have kids and you are looking for a happy go lucky boy to get best friends with your kids but you still want a small dog then Bennie is it!

He is very much crate trained and will go in his crate by just opening the door. He is housebroken but will not ask to go out but if you watch him and let him out he’ll potty every time outside.

We will make sure that the mange is cleared up before Bennie goes on to his new home but you can apply today for him…he’s too sweet to stay homeless for long.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
