BIO

Lacie is a playful pup who loves to hang with her brothers and sisters.  She can frequently be found napping next to her sister Cagnie.  Lacie is the leader of the pack, the instigator of many games the puppies play and a girl who loves her food.  She calms the other pups when they are fidgety and keeps them warm if the others are cold.  She loves to pounce and attack her siblings and is sometimes just plain goofy.

Lacie’s mom was dropped off at a shelter the day she gave birth.  AADR rescued the mom and pups the next day and took them directly to their foster home.  Lacie is part of the litter that includes Elvis, Presley, Lady, Tramp, Cagnie and Lacie.

Lacie is young and will need to be trained how to sit, stay and any other behaviors the adopting household views as important.

A loving home with humans who have experience with training a puppy and who committed to nurturing this young life and to provide an environment where she can exercise and learn all the world has to offer her.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
