BIO:
Patches came from an owner that didn’t have the money to see to Patches medical needs and was given to him by a breeder that didn’t want to deal with his medical condition.
Patches came to us a very sick little boy. After running test it was discovered that Patches had IBS(irritable bowel syndrome), this will require special food for the rest of his life along with inexpensive prednisone twice a week to control his bouts of diarrhea. Since we’ve had him on this he has done very very well but if you slid in a treat or two he’ll have diarrhea so when we say only his special food that’s just want we mean.
Patches was very timid of the foster mom when he first came but bonded very well to foster dad but slowly over time he has gotten used to foster mom and we think it’s because foster dad is home all the time and foster mom works. Patches gets along with everyone and is just a happy boy. He loves to run and play in the fenced in yard and we think he needs to go to a home with another younger dog to play with. He may be shy at first but he warms up and is just the sweetest little boy.
He is used to a doggie door so a family with one would be great along with a fenced in yard. Help Patches find his forever home.
If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed above. We welcome out of state and Canadian adoptions, but we will not ship any dog via cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. If shipping by volunteers through our organization or paid transporter, then there will be an additional $35 Fee for the required Health Certificate.
Please Read Before You Adopt to learn more about transportation options. If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and Fill Out an Application. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
