BIO:

Andy is a gentle boy, he is a standard size dachshund.  He is sweet and submissive and loves to give kisses. He loves to lay with you on the couch or chair and be pet and loved on. He gets along with other dogs and likes to play with them as well, a good  game of tag is always fun. He is crate trained  and housebroken and loves to walk on a leash and he loves to run in the yard. Most of all he wants to be your buddy. He can be a little shy and reserved when he first meets you but give him 10 minutes and he wants to be in your lap type of guy. Can you be his forever buddy?  If so, please fill out an adoption application, this handsome boy won’t last long!

More about Andy...NY

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
