BIO:
Bella is a sweet, young gal looking for a quiet home with a family who will snuggle and love her for the rest of her life. She is housetrained, but prefers for her people to accompany her on her outside trips. She walks perfectly on a leash and really enjoys spending time with her people. Bella has allergies and will require hypo-allergic food, she prefers AvoDerm grain-free. She is welcoming to new people, but may bark when they first enter the house. She loves playing with her doggy friends and expresses interest in cats (but will not hurt them). She is shy when she first meets new people, but after getting to know them will play and interact just as any other young pup. Bella would do best in a home without young children because of her size and timid personality. If you think you may be the home that Bella is seeking email her foster mom, Stephanie (smroberts2007@yahoo.com), for more information.
More about Bella..PA
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
