“Laissez les bons temps rouler!" or Let the good times roll! My name is Roxie, and as you may have guessed, I was born and raised in New Orleans, LA. I come from a very loving military family, who have shown me a few places across the country, my present location being in League City, TX – sure is hot down here! As much fun as it has been to sniffing new neighborhoods over the past four years, I’m hoping to find a home where I can settle down and build some permanent habits. I’m 4 years old, healthy, and up-to-date on all my shots. I’m a energetic and beautiful young female, and intend to keep this trait to myself for as long as I live; with no intentions of breeding – made that decision when I was six months old. I currently live with another small tan dachshund named Louie, who is also looking for a more settled lifestyle. Please view his page here if you are interested in bringing both of us into your home.
More about Roxie
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
