BIO:
My name is Fletcher and I am eight months old and was brought into AADR foster care because I was picked up as a stray and taken to the shelter. I am a small long haired doxie and should never get over 10lbs. I like to play with other dogs and will play for hours. Older children would work best for me or children that know how to give me space until I settle into my new home. I am house trained and love to go for walks on my leash. My foster mom says I am smart because I go to the door when I want to go outside to do my business. Plus I can sit and come on command. Please check out my photos and apply to adopt me and I will love you.
To the person wishing to adopt me. I will greatly benefit with puppy training classes cause it’s very apparent that the people that owned me before didn’t care about teaching me anything there for I have a lot of manners to learn, please take time to teach me that you will be so rewarded with a wonderful loving young pet by doing so.
More about Fletcher...PA
Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
