BIO:

My name is Sable and I am five years old red smooth hair dachshund. I was placed with AADR because my human family was relocating and was unable to take me. I love playing with my human brothers and taking walks with my human mom. In my foster home, I have two canine sibling and love to play with them. My human mom says that I am a bit overweight but so is she so we are walking daily to both slim down. I love to coddle with my humans and laying in the sun relaxing. When I was younger I had a little of puppies, but I am getting fixed before I go home to my furever home. Please check out my photos and apply to adopt me and I will love you.

More about Sable,,,MN

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
