BIO

Hi there, I’m Ollie!  I love everyone and everyone loves me cause I’m so cute!  I love to sleep in the big bed and play with toys and my foster brothers and sisters.  I cry when my foster mom leaves in the car, but it’s ok because my playmates let me know she always comes back.  I would love a home with someone there all the time, but if not, at least another pup like me to keep me from being lonely.

Ollie is a precious little guy with velvet soft fur and the most gorgeous eyes.  He is a naturally ‘leaner wiener’, and needs to keep his svelte figure since he is especially long.  I’ve not seen Ollie meet a stranger, but if he goes to a home with children, they need to be respectful of his long back and treat him accordingly.  Ollie is an especially loving little guy who has endless kisses.  He loves to sit in your lap or lay in a doggie bed near you.  He is a champion cuddler, but also loves to play and be active.  He is working on his leash and potty skills.  He will ‘take care of business’ outside if taken regularly, but does not ask to go when the urge hits.  Please feel free to email any questions about Ollie, he will be a wonderful addition to some lucky family!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
