Being fostered in LA.........Contact foster mom at tracibourgeois@yahoo.com for more information.

Hi. My name is Liam and I am a sweet cuddly boy. My foster mom calls me her dapper dapple gentleman. I was supposed to be a William but that name seems way to big for me so Liam it is. If you take me home, you need to know a few things about me. For example, I am a lot of fun and will play and play by running around and chewing on things. I like to bite on toes, fingers, necks, shirts, shoes, cabinets and anything else you treasure so you need to be patient and watch me carefully because I will happily chew your shoes and look at you innocently afterward. When I am caught doing these things I will need to be given something that I can chew on as I am just a little boy and don't realize that your favorite heels cost a lot of money. In my pictures you can see me running off with my foster mom's hair scrunchie. She took it from me two seconds later but that's ok because I moved on to my foster daddy's slippers. I am learning what to chew and what not to chew and where to go potty but I am really little and will need a lot of help and positive reinforcement. Sometimes I hit the piddle pad but most of the time I specialize in dragging it around.

I have a really good mommy and great siblings and I am used to sleeping with them so please understand that I will likely wake you up at night and I like to get up really early with the chickens. I like breakfast served at 5 am. My foster mom is working on that but it may not change anytime soon. If you are interested in me and don't mind helping me learn all of the things that a puppy needs to learn to be a well adjusted adult please fill out an application to adopt me.

Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
