Being fostered in Louisiana ... Contact Foster Mom, Traci for more information at tracibourgeois@yahoo.com.
WE WILL NOT HAVE A PROBLEM GETTING THESE BABIES FROM LA TO TN WHERE THEY CAN GO ON A PAID TRANSPORT OR VOLUNTEER UP THE EAST COAST, ASK US WE CAN HELP IF YOU WANT ONE OF THESE BABIES!!
My name is Annabel and I am the smallest of my siblings. Don't let my size fool you though, I have learned how to be tough and stick up for myself. You have to with two bigger brothers. I am a sweet heart and just gorgeous, but being a puppy means that I am not housebroken and I will chew on anything that fits in my mouth. I will even do my best with things that don't fit in my mouth.
I do have to tell you something about myself. I have what my foster mom calls a small tail deformity but she tells me that it is really cute. She smiles when I prance by with my curly Q tail sticking up in the air. I am a longhair dachshund so that means that eventually my hair should cover most of my tail. My foster mom said that even if it doesn't, I am just a very pretty dapple girl and that tail makes me special. (We're told that Annabel's tail deformity may have happened because her mom didn't have enough food to eat.)
If you take me home understand that I will need so much patience. Our mom had many parasites and so did we. We had to take a lot of medicine to help us with this so any home that gets us must know that our family needs to be on top of our deworming and follow the doctor's orders. We don't want to be sick again because it feels so good to be healthy. I also want you to know that I like to get up really early so my parents should understand that I will be the early bird in the house.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
