BIO:
FRANK came from Louisiana heartworm positive so he’s been going thru heartworm treatment and will be ready for his new forever home the 1st of Oct. time for you to get your app in and get approved. FRANK is an exceptional dachshund, he’s friendly with everyone, most all dachshunds and as you can see from his pictures LOVES to play ball. It’s best that Frank have an active family and someone that’ll play with him so he doesn’t get bored. He’s great on a leash and in a car, he’s just a great all round guy. Give him a ball or toy and he wants to sleep with it so he can keep an eye on it. He’d do great with another dachshund we think female would be the best and a young one that he can play with. He also wants a fenced in yard so he can run and play. He is housebroken to a dog door so would take just a little more training if you didn’t have one. This boy is too sweet to stay in foster home, please apply for him today.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteer that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or up and down the West Coast. We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
