BIO:

Katiana is a happy pup who seems to see life as a huge bowl of cherries, to be lived to the fullest.  For her, everything in life is good except maybe when she is “chastised” by her older foster brothers and sisters for being a bit too exuberant in her ear chewing and lack of respect for their personal space.  A petite, affectionate little girl, she is anything but the fragile flower.  She is a bit mischievous and loves to wrestle with her brother, Chief. She loves to play, sleep in the big bed, and be outside. She is learning to walk on a leash and is working on her potty skills.  Her house training is coming along well but she still has accidents.  She would do well as an only pet but also enjoys the company of other pups  Katiana is an awesome little girl looking for someone to be her best friend forever.

More about Katiana...NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
