MILLY WANTS TO KNOW WHY NO ONE WILL ADOPT HER! IS IT BECAUSE SHE IS BLIND IN ONE EYE DUE TO AN INJURY THAT A HUMAN LET HER SUFFER? IF THAT IS IT THEN YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON A WONDERFUL DOG. SHE IS SWEET FRIENDLY AND DOES WELL WITH ALL OTHER DOGS. SHE LOVES TO PLAY WITH THE OTHER YOUNG DOGS AND COULD BE YOUNGER THAN 2-3. DO YOU WANT ME TO TELL HER IT'S BECAUSE SHE'S HANDICAPPED AND YOU WANT THE PERFECT DOG OR DO I TELL HER SHE HAS AN APP PENDING ON HER???
The other eye is fine and from what the vet tells us she will not go blind in the other eye.
MILLY came from Hopkinsville, KY as a stray but the poor thing had Mange but we've got her all cured of that and now she's looking for her forever home. She could be timid when she first goes to her new home but will warm up especailly if there are other dog(s) in the house. She loves to play with other dogs and is fine with male or female. We'd say children over 10 as she is a little timid and smaller children could make her nervous. Oh, Milly is "special needs" because she is blind in one eye but that doesn't stop her one bit and if you don't tell her that she can only see out of one eye, she'll never know. That can be our secret!! Please fill out an application and give Milly the home she deserves.

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
