NEEDS TO BE AN ONLY DOG....

Maggie is a beautiful little girl, she loves attention & affection. In fact
she demands it. She goes nuts when I get home from work everyday. She wiggles that little but of hers until I swear it's going to fall off. She
needs to go to a home that will love her and her alone. She cannot have anycompetition for affection. She is the greatest bed partner, you will alwaysbe up before her. She loves to sleep in bed with you under the covers. She also has the most expressional face I have ever witnessed on a dog. She loves her tummy rubbed and she would let you do it until your arm fell off.She loves the outdoors. She lives to eat so you have to be careful you don't over feed her. She has alot of energy. She really is a good girl she just needs the right home. She's very protective of her owners until she gets to know the people so you have to be careful especially around children. You need to be very careful if you are holding her and someone comes up to you, she will think she's trying to protect you.

Is Not Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
