We just can't get them from one Coast to the other but some day we hope to have enough volunteers to do that as well for now please look for dogs on your coast.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

Razzle was turned in to a shelter because his owners had way too many dogs and no longer wanted them.  So, Razzle and 8 other mini dachshunds need forever homes.  All of these dogs were given names of candy, so we call them the Sugar Babies.

I call this little guy “Razzle Dazzle”.  He will dazzle you with his charm and sweetness.  Razzle is in great health, has a beautiful shinny coat, and has tons of puppy energy.  When he is not running around trying to make my older dogs play with him, he loves to give kisses and curl up in any available lap or on top of a pile of dogs to snooze and recharge his batteries for another round of puppy play.

Razzle gets along great with all my dogs, male and female, large and small.  He loves everyone.  He knows how to go in and out the doggie door, but generally forgets why he is going outside and runs right back in.  I just have to go out with him and remind him to take care of business.  He needs a bit more work on walking on a leash.  He gets so excited, that we don’t get much walking done.  He just bounces around, jumps and twists in circles, rolls over on his back and wiggles.  I guess the walking will come later.

Razzle will be a great addition to any family as long as they have plenty of energy to keep up with this little guy.  So fill out those applications, and bring home your new best friend!  I guarantee - he will keep you smiling.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
