Note from Bo's temporary foster mom - This is one of the prettiest long haired boys I have ever seen! He's so precious because he is learning to trust. Guys like Bo can just steal your heart.

BO came from the backyard breeder bust that DAPHNE came from. He is just a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Gets along great with other dogs and could really get used to being spoiled and get over being used to make people money instead of being their companion. He is very sweet and prances around the house like he is "all of that and a bag of chips". He's doing well with the doggie door but we are sure would need help with further housebreaking. He is fine in a crate and is in very good health for being 9 yrs. He even likes to play a little with the younger dogs. He is UTD on all shots, neutered and heartworm negative and on Interceptor and frontline.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
