DAPHNE and her friend BO1 came from a backyard breeder that had too many dogs to care for and was told that they had to get rid of the dogs. DAPHANE is shy but will allow you to pick her up. She is very laid back and just wants a comfortable place to spend the rest of her days out. She doesn't even know what a doggie bed is and when she sleeps she will curl up on the floor and go to sleep - won't even crawl in a doggie bed. We are hoping time in a foster home will get her on the road to being spoiled. She is UTD on all shots, spayed, heartworm negative and had a dental where she did loose teeth due to poor nutrition. She is now completely vetted and looking to find a forever home. Will you be that forever home for this SWEET SWEET GIRL??

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
