BIO:

Angel is a mere 11 lbs.  She is a petite girl and is a perfect little lap dog.  She loves to be held and cuddled.  She will contently sleep in your lap while you hold her. Angel gets along with other dogs, cats and likes children as well.  Although she has been slow  to overcome her fear after being owned by a breeder and then abandoned with her mate Cason, Angel has made great progress.   On the night she came to AADR she got away from her foster mom and was bumped by a vehicle.  She had surgery to correct her pelvic bone which was out of place.  She has since fully recovered and is doing great!  No limp and no visible side effects from the accident.  She was also heart worm positive and has recived treatment and is now healthy and ready for adoption!  She is a little timid and needs a quiet home with a regular routine.  She has gained confidence and loves to be spoiled. She loves to sleep with you in the big bed but will sleep in her crate with no problem.   Angel has been through a lot in her past life and deserves a loving home so she can find out how lovely life can be.  Won't you consider adopting this little girl and giving her the love she craves?

You can also follow the story of Angel and Cason by going to Sammy's Page on Facebook.  You can find a link on the AADR homepage.

More about Angel...FL

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
